Erik Halaas: Live On Minnesota

Live On Minnesota is working to become the first provider of NOR in the state of Minnesota.

South Minneapolis resident Erik Halaas wants to become garden compost himself one day. Through his social venture Live On Minnesota, he is exploring how this natural alternative to cremation and conventional burial can become viable.

Pin Oak Preserve @ Jeremiah Commons

As a conservation cemetery and land commons, Pin Oak Preserve aims to create space for the community to have sustainable and affordable access to NOR.

With a firm commitment to equity and justice, Jeremiah Commons hopes to be a place where all people in Southern Michigan can have access to natural space in which they can grieve loss and delight in nature.

The NextCycle Sustainable Packaging Accelerator is a six-month program that advances projects toward implementation by providing support in the form of business planning, technical guidance, funding pathway identification, partner connection, and pitch development.
