Natural organic reduction
Love Knows No Bounds
Once we leave our bodies, we are no longer tied to any earthly possessions, customs, or rituals. It’s up to our loved ones to follow through on our wishes, because memorials are for the living.
Boundless NOR allows those we leave behind to find us in nature, expanding our legacy for eternity. Natural Organic Reduction helps us complete life’s natural cycle, returning to the soil to nourish other life. This alternative to cremation and embalmed burial isn’t limited to a cemetery, defined by religious customs, or bound by any traditions.
It’s the freedom to return to nature.
It’s the freedom to be Boundless.
Our Promise
We promise to guide you and your loved ones with compassion and care, ensuring that every
step of the journey is handled with transparency and integrity. At Boundless NOR, we believe
in the power of life beyond life and are honored to help you leave a legacy that blossoms with
the Earth’s future.
An Experience Second to None.
Choosing an Earth-friendly option like Boundless NOR can be a more peaceful and comforting experience. Our Natural Organic Reduction specialists have spent years developing the process and our entire operation is designed to work with funeral directors in your local community to provide services that will best honor your loved one. When choosing Boundless NOR, you can still have a traditional visitation and funeral, and both (combined with NOR) are less expensive than a traditional burial with a casket, concrete burial vault, and a grave. Once the ceremony is over, your loved one is carefully and respectfully prepared for the process of natural transformation by Boundless’ licensed morticians.
You’re Always In Good Hands.
Natural Organic Reduction is an emerging industry, but it’s far from a new idea. Boundless experts have studied the process from every angle to ensure a safe, respectful experience for everyone involved. We have designed, built, and distributed custom vessels for the process that are unlike any in the industry, and we are currently working on our next generation of designs. You’ll be working with people you can trust and a process you can count on. When it’s as sacred and personal as end-of-life planning, you only want to partner with professionals.
Earth Positive. It All Comes Full Circle.
Significantly better for the environment than cremation or traditional burial, Boundless NOR turns remains into rich compost that promotes growth and new life. The process takes about six to eight weeks, and the impact is felt forever. Our sustainable state-of-the-art facility was designed to create a peaceful setting for the transformation. At the end of the process, families are presented with a cubic yard of compost to be used however they choose, whether in their personal garden, divided among loved ones, or donated in whole or in part to a sustainability organization.

About Natural Organic Reduction (NOR)
Natural Organic Reduction (NOR) or “Human Composting” is a natural process that transforms loved ones into environmentally friendly soil to nourish and replenish the earth. NOR is an environmentally friendly alternative to cremation or traditional burial. The process gently transforms a body into earth friendly soil over approximately 45 to 60 days.
The process produces approximately one cubic yard of soil (compost) that is perfect for preserving natural resources. Some or all of the soil can be used by the family or the soil can be donated for conservation projects. Human composting is friendly for the environment both during and after the actual process.
NOR takes place in regulated facilities. Each body is processed separately and is tracked and monitored through all the steps. NOR providers are licensed and regulated in each state where NOR is legal. Michigan requires the tracking of bodies at regulated facilities.
NOR is currently not legal in Michigan. Boundless NOR is working to bring Natural Organic Reduction to Michigan.
I love the prospect of bringing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burial or cremation to Michigan!!! Thank you, Boundless NOR, for your tireless efforts to make this goal a reality!
A note from our team:
Welcome to Boundless NOR. As you read these web pages, please remember that NOR is not currently legal in Michigan. Therefore, Boundless NOR is not currently soliciting for business as an NOR provider. Some of this website is written in the active voice; i.e. it may appear that we are actively seeking business when we are not. Our immediate goal is to educate and inform. We will be adding and updating to this website as we work to bring NOR to Michigan.
Soon, via this website, you will be able to add your name to a list of those that desire to show Michigan legislators that Michiganders want the option of Natural Organic Reduction. Legislation will be required to make Natural Organic Reduction legal in Michigan and you can help make that happen.
In the next few months, we will provide an information area for those in the funeral profession to obtain information on becoming a provider of Boundless NOR services in your local community. We look forward to working with the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and funeral professionals in your local communities so that the public can receive NOR services close to home. There is no one better prepared to serve the families in your communities with your funeral needs than the funeral directors that you have come to know and trust and that your families have relied on for years.
We are headed out to Tacoma Washington for the 2nd annual Terramation Body Composting Conference, February 4 & 5, hosted by Return Home. Terramation is the term that Return Home and others use for Natural Organic Reduction. We are grateful to the staff of Return Home and the support they are giving to our new industry and for their invitation to be included. We look forward to learning and sharing and meeting all the great people who are involved in bringing NOR to the world. Check back in the coming months. We plan to add a section with updates, photos and videos.
Thank you for visiting our website.
